Woodseaves is very proud of the plant nursery which has been lovingly developed over the last two and half decades.
The aim of owner Jean was to establish a natural growing environment where plants, bushes and trees are arranged just like you would in your own back garden. So, customers can view all the plants and foliage as they are in their intended habitat. The owners also want visitors to be as relaxed as possible, so they openly encourage people to wander around with their family and friends.
Jean is an expert in all things gardening and have over the years won awards. These include the prestigious RHS Tatton 2006 winning silver and silver gilt, as well as the Cottage Garden Society in 2007. We are also as a Member of The Historic Rose Group.
If you feel you need some guidance on your visit, then please don’t hesitate to ask the friendly nursery. Also, if you have a special request on a type of plant, then we will try our best to source what you require – just give us a call or ask at our nursery.

The Miniature Railway
The railway is a special and unique attraction which gives Woodseaves its own distinct charm.
The railway was designed and built in 2003 around a large figure of eight formation.
We are pleased to invite all our guests for a ride on the train whether they be day trippers, railway enthusiasts or garden club members. We like to think it is a perfect and leisurely opportunity to browse our beautiful range of plants and flowers from the comfort of your moving seat.
There are train rides every Sunday afternoon from Easter to September, but always weather permitting. We, therefore, reserve the right to close the railway at our discretion. If you have any doubts about our opening times please give us a call or visit our social media channels.
We always try to operate seasonally themed rides like Santa and Halloween for children and their parents. We also specialise in birthday parties and any other occasion you would like to suggest – please let us know your ideas.
Train rides £2.50 per person, children under 3 are free, subject to change.
